In a declaration of solidarity, Egypt has announced a three-day period of national mourning to honor the innocent victims of the heinous attack on the Al-Mamedani Hospital in Gaza.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the evening of Tuesday, October 17, the Arab Republic of Egypt strongly condemned the Israeli bombing of Al-Ahly Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in hundreds of innocent casualties as well as wounded and injured Palestinians in Gaza.

A representative of the Gaza Health Ministry estimated the death and injury toll at 500. The Israeli military claimed it was unaware of any information on the alleged bombing.

Earlier on Tuesday, the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees reported an Israeli air attack had hit one of its schools that had been serving as a shelter for displaced persons, killing at least six people.
