The Novel Behind ‘Anf W Thalathat Oyoun’ Movie Production
Director Amir Ramses started filming his latest production ‘Anf W Thalathat Oyoun’ this August. The anticipated project caused a stir when Ramses announced his cast, an array of popular artists. The movie stars Saba Mubarak and Dhafer L’Abidine in the lead. Gihan El Shamashergy and Dina Elsherbiny also joined the cast.
‘Anf W Thalathat Oyoun’ is based on a novel of the same name by renowned author Ihsan Abdel Quddous. However, It is not the first time we see Ihsan Abdel Quddous’s novel on the big screen. Amir Ramses’s adaption is a remake of the 1972 movie of the same name, which starred Mahmoud Yassin, Magda al-Sabahi, Naglaa Fathi, and Mervat Amin.

Anf W Thalathat Oyoun’s renowned novelist is one of Egypt’s most important romantic authors. He is known for his woman empowerment themes. Abdel Quddous’s novels like ‘Ana Hurra,’ ‘Fi Baitina Rajul,’ ‘La Tutf’e al-Shams,’ along many more were adapted into movies. His works led the conversation on women’s issues and their role in the Egyptian society.
Anf W Thalathat Oyoun: The Novel
We don’t know much about Amir Ramses’ modern adaptation of the novel and its events. However, in the novel, the events revolve around Dr. Hashem, a cosmetic surgeon who is over 40 years old. Despite being emotionally involved with two girls, he falls in love with another young lady who is about 25 years younger than him.
The Novel explores themes of love that are beyond the physical. It delves deep into the intellectual minds of the characters and how they perceive ‘Love.’ Is love a spiritual connection? Or is it a relationship of the body? What role do the mind and thought play in love?’ are all questions Abdel Quddous tries to analyze through his characters.
